Born in Cocoa, Florida on October 20, 1947 he was the son of Carl B. Murphy, Sr. and Myrtle Rosellen Murphy.
Serving in the U.S. Army, Carl was a proud Veteran and loved his Country.
His career started at Walt Disney World, as a carpenter, when the first nail was driven for the construction of the now world-famous attraction. Working his way up in the Union he eventually became the Director of Construction and Maintenance of the Building Trades Department of the AFLCIO and the Tennessee Valley Authority. Known for his great bargaining abilities and talent to negotiate, he was appreciated and admired by his colleagues.
After suffering from a serious accident in 2008, Carl worked part time for a while as a consultant for the Building Trades Department, the job he loved, until he retired.
His hobbies were cars and carpentry. There was no re-build he couldn’t do with a car or piece of woodwork. In high school he was first chair Trumpet player at Evans High School. Carl had a great love for music and dance. One of his favorite past-time was entertaining his 6 brothers at family gatherings as he was one of nine children, born the third son out of seven boys.
