I fondly remember the surfing trips to Cape Hatteras and California you took us on.  You guys were the best parents who always put their kids first.  What hurts me the most is that I hadn't seen or spoken with Chad in about five years.  I have heard through other friends that Chad was doing great.  His spirit will live on through his children and the wonderful memories we all share.

Dearest Jack, you are the most incredible father! I did not have a father, but if I had a choice, it would be you. Every time I saw you with Chad, you had the most beautiful smile on your face. The adoration was mutual and I laugh when I think of the story you told me of when Chad would spring out of his crib and you would be waiting to catch him in the act just as I have done with my sons so many times.
