On Tuesday, November 27, 2018, Chuck, as he was lovingly called by family and friends, passed away into God’s loving arms. He had been suffering with multiple physical disabilities for several years, though his mind stayed as sharp and witty as ever. Joking with doctors and nurses, inquiring about families of loved ones and telling stories of times past, he brought smiles to everyone around him.
Chuck was born in Orlando, Florida at home on February 1, 1929 to Remley and Ethel Beach. As a veteran of the Korean war, he served in Germany with The United States Army from 1951 to 1953. Before joining the Army, he began his career with Sears, Roebuck and Company in September 1947. After an honorable discharge from the military, he continued with Sears until his retirement in 1989. During his time with Sears he made many lifelong friends through softball leagues and gatherings, though nothing more special than meeting Rosemarie. If you asked him what made him the happiest in his nearly 90 years of life, he wouldn’t skip a beat. It would be his beloved “Rosie”. Married April 6, 1952, they spent 66 loving years together. You only had to be with them a few minutes to experience a love that we can only dream of. His love and devotion to her was more than admirable, it was envied.
Chuck had a passion for everything he did, including his favorite pastime--fishing. If he wasn’t on the Chain of Lakes for bass, he was on Lake Monroe for perch or Bonita Beach for snook. He enjoyed teaching his children how to ski on their local lake, where they spent many weekends on the family boat. Chuck passed on his love of the water to his granddaughters as well, teaching them how to fish brought him great joy. He will be remembered by family and friends as a proud patriot, loyal friend, faithful husband, hardworking provider and loving father, grandfather and great grandfather.
Chuck is survived by his wife Rosemarie, two children: Kathleen Berry and Charles Jr. (wife Casandra). He also leaves behind two grandchildren Lauren Berry and Carianne Brubaker (husband Marcus), as well as one great granddaughter Reagan Leigh.
He had one brother Lamar Beach (deceased).
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations to be made in honor of Charles to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
Funeral arrangements will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, December 5 at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
