Chuck earned a bachelor’s degree in communications from Morehead State University, where he met his wife, Jeri Miracle. His career took him through Sports Channel, The Golf Channel, and ultimately Ignite Media Works, his own company.
Chuck was passionate about many things: a good steak, world affairs, a great day on the course, and sports playing 24/7 – especially Buckeye football – across multiple screens in his home. He almost never met a Michigan fan he could tolerate, was conservative to the core, and a great lover of this country. He would never turn down a Skyline chili cheese coney or a trip to Arby’s, either. Mostly, he would never turn down a chance to do anything with his sons.
Chuck’s passion and loyalty for competition were matched only by his love for his furry friends. He never met an animal he couldn’t charm into being in favorite. More than one person has pictured Chuck in Heaven surrounded by his dogs.
Chuck owned a room the moment he walked into it. His quick wit, genius IQ, conversational skills, and knack for closing seemingly impossible deals were legendary.
But if you want to know how Chuck truly wanted to be remembered, look at how he lived his final days.
Even as cancer took its toll on his body, Chuck’s spirit and determination only grew stronger. He spoke openly to everyone about his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, never worrying about rejection because he wanted his remaining time to count.
His fondest wish was to make Heaven crowded. Even in his final days, he held tightly to his faith and the promised of God. One declaration he kept close was, “I will live and not die, and I will declare the goodness and faithfulness of the Lord.”
And that is exactly what Chuck did. Cancer may have taken his body, but it never took his soul. Cuck finished his race a mighty warrior still doing what mattered most to him: making people laugh, sharing his faith, and leaving this world and going to the next unapologetically Chuck..
Chuck is survived by his loving wife, Jeri; his sons and pride and joy, Nick and Zach; his devoted parents, Wayne and Betty Conner of Orlando; and his younger brother, Jon Conner, of Daytona Beach. He also leaves behind extended family in Kentucky and Cincinnati, lifelong friends, and fraternity brothers who will miss him dearly.
A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, November 1 from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the Orange County Sportsman’s Club at 9020 Kilgore Rd, Orlando, FL, 32836
