Gordon was born in Miami, Florida to Charles and Cora Wolfram. He went to school at Miami Senior High School and then to Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland where he met his future wife, Agnes Treiber. They were married in December 1954 and moved to New Orleans, Louisiana where he went to Tulane Medical School. After four years, they moved back to Miami where he did his Internship and Residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital. They moved to Orlando in 1963 where he went into private practice with Jerry Fadem MD.
He was drafted into the Army at Fort Polk, Louisiana for two years in the Medical Corp during the Vietnam War. While they were there, they met several doctors and their families who they have stayed friends with to this day.
Gordon was a birdwatcher supreme, so Agnes became one, too. He could name every bird you were able to describe. Motorcycling was a great joy for him, also. He taught his son who loved it too and his sons-in-law, grandchildren and friends.
Gordon also loved boating since his early childhood and always had a boat or two which he used frequently on Florida's vast array of fresh water rivers and lakes. Along with birdwatching, boating and motorcycling, he was also an avid and skilled photographer. As family members will never forget patiently, and sometimes not so patiently, holding still while he made adjustments to camera settings before taking that perfect shot.
He was also an avid WWII buff, constantly reading books and watching movies and documentaries on WWII history.
Gordon was always ready to tell interesting and humorous stories and loved telling and hearing the occasional joke or witticism as well as enjoying reading the funny papers in the Sunday newspapers.
He was very involved in his medical practice. He was the Chief of the Medical Staff at Orlando Regional Medical Center from 1987 to 1989. After he closed his practice when he was in his sixties, he became a consultant at the hospital until he retired at the age of 75.
He is survived by his wife of 72 years Agnes, their children Karen and her husband Monte, Lisa and her husband Chuck, Jennifer and David and his wife Anna. He is also survived by and their grandchildren, Josh, Andrew and his wife Julie, Clyde and his wife YeJin, Jace, Chris and Leah.
Charitable donations may be made to the Audubon Society of Orlando in lieu of flowers.
Visitation will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Road, Gotha, FL 34734, US, on September 12, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, followed by a Funeral Service at the same location from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
A Committal Service will take place at Woodlawn Memorial Park & Cremation Gardens, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Road, Gotha, FL 34734, US, on September 12, 2026, from 3:30 pm to 4:00 pm, and a Catered Reception will follow at Woodlawn Funeral Home , Meadow's Chapel, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Road , Gotha, FL 34734, on September 12, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm.
Final resting place will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park , 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Road , Gotha.
