Cheryl graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in journalism and was an avid Gators fan for her whole life. Cheryl was an United States Air Force veteran serving in computer operations. She went on to work with CPAmerica as a publications editor. In her free time she loved knitting and crocheting and gifted many family members and friends with her beautiful projects. She enjoyed listening to and reading murder mystery books and passed many an afternoon doing suduko and crossword puzzles. Cheryl loved her Starbucks coffee and never turned down an offer to meet there.
Cheryl and Pete had many fur babies over the years. She leaves behind her sweet Papillon, Darby.
Cheryl is preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Hon. Robert C. Wattles in January 2010 and by her father Robert W. Dudding in July 2015.
Survived by her loving husband of 18 years, Melvin (Pete) Gray II of Alachua, Florida. Her mother Leila (Frankie) Dudding of Orlando, Florida. Her two older sisters, Hon. Patricia Strowbridge of Windermere, Florida and Judith (Daniel) Dreps of Georgetown , Texas, as well as several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews in Florida and Texas.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Woodlawn Funeral Home in Gotha, Florida.
A memorial service will be held at the Marie Williams Chapel at First Baptist Orlando (3000 South John Young Pkwy Orlando, Florida 32805) on Saturday , September 29, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. A family internment will be held at the Woodlawn Funeral Home in November 2018.
