

With grace and dignity, Ms. Claire Ilyine Rickerby peacefully departed this life on May 28, 2023, at the age of 87, leaving behind a legacy that we celebrate. Whether known as “Ms. Claire”, “Auntie Claire”, “Mummy”, or “Grandma, we celebrate her embodiment of qualities of kindness, integrity, spirituality, and ambition, enriching the lives of those around her.
Born on May 19, 1936, in Kingston, Jamaica, Ms. Claire was the cherished youngest daughter of Daniel S. White and Gertrude Elizabeth Allen. Inspired by her beloved father, Ms. Claire followed her passion for healthcare and dedicated herself to becoming a registered nurse.
Continuing her nursing training, Ms. Claire ventured to London, where she married Lloyd Rickerby and experienced the joy of motherhood, raising her three beautiful children: the late Ms. Jacqueline Rickerby-Anderson, Dr. Haig Rickerby, and Ms. Jennifer Rickerby. In pursuit of better opportunities, the family relocated to the United States in 1963 and settled in Brooklyn, New York, establishing a close-knit community of cherished family and friends. Ms. Claire furthered her education by earning her bachelor's degree in nursing from St. Francis College in Brooklyn Heights.
Later in life, Ms. Claire relocated to Florida, joining her daughter Jackie and grandson Omar Anderson. There, she continued her nursing career and created a loving haven in her beautiful home, nurturing, and impacting her loved ones and her community.
Ms. Claire embraced her faith in Jesus Christ from an early age, finding solace and strength in her relationship with Him. Known for her impeccable fashion sense, she took delight in exploring new skincare products, always staying radiant and youthful. Ms. Claire was a wellspring of wisdom and had a heart devoted to prayer, fervently seeking happiness and well-being for her family and friends.
Now, Ms. Claire rests in her eternal home in heaven, where she joins her daughter, Jackie, basking in the presence of the God she loved. She leaves behind a cherished family, including her son Dr. Haig Rickerby, daughter Jennifer Rickerby, grandsons Omari Anderson and Haig Rickerby, and granddaughters Imani Rickerby and Bianca Rickerby. Additionally, her warm impact extends to her extended family, the close-knit neighborhood community in Orlando, and her fellow batch-mates from nursing school.
Ms. Claire Rickerby's life was a testament to love, compassion, and devotion. Her memory will forever be treasured, and her legacy will continue to inspire all those whose lives she touched.
