

Claudette Solano passed on February 15, 2012 in Gotha, Florida at age 85. Claudette was born in Brooklyn, New York on June 1, 1926. After graduating from King’s College (NY), Claudette began a noble 65 year career as a Registered Nurse. In 1963 she moved to Melbourne and spent the rest of her life in Florida. Ms. Solano had a deep passion for community service and gave back throughout her whole life. Dressed in her pink coat, she served as a Pink Lady Volunteer at Heath Central Hospital. Serving with Florida’s Heath Department, Claudette was a retired Public Health Nurse. She also served a term as a Silver Haired Legislator. She was awarded a Presidential Award for her dedicated service as a Guardian Ad Litem. As a member of the Red Hat Society, she exemplified the Society’s mission of Fun, Friendship, Freedom, Fulfillment, and Fitness. Claudette is loved and survived by her two sons, Randy and Rodney, 5 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
