Donetta Sue NeSmith

Donetta Sue NeSmith went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 18, 2025. Friends knew her as “Sue”. She was born in Ethel, WV. After graduating High School, she moved to Wyandotte, MI and married James “Jim” Ellixson in 1956. They had three children- Monnie (Al) Kinlaw, Jerry (Tammy) Ellixson and Keith Ellixson. Jim passed in 2000.

She later married Ernie NeSmith and they traveled together as Bus Driver and Tour Escort for many years. She loved traveling by any means, including cruises. She especially frequented Biloxi, MS and Branson, MO with her tour excursions.

She enjoyed photographing all her travels and family events. She especially loved arts and crafts and found great joy in making and sharing greeting cards. Before retiring to travel and craft, she worked more than 20 years with Florida Hospital (now Advent Health) in administration.

Sue is survived by her three children, four grandchildren Justin Ellixson, Megan Taylor, Skye Kinlaw, Ashley Ellixson, one great-grand child, Patricia Taylor and brother, Fred Gillam.

She was a member of Gateway Church in Winter Park, FL.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 23 from 12:00-2:00 PM, followed by the funeral service at 2:00 PM and interment at 3:00 PM.
