Happy birthday, Mamaw! Today would have been your 85th birthday. It fell on a Sunday this year, so we will all be together as family remembering you. I really hope you visit me in my dreams tonight. I always replay the last few times I saw you and interacted with you. Like on Grandparent's day, when Megan and I brought you a homemade card and you loved it before you even opened it. Then in the last few weeks when I had you for just a moment.. you couldn't say much, but when I looked into your eyes and said "I love you", you looked back at me and whispered with all you could, "I love you too". I just miss you so much! I hope you know the special place you held in my heart. I truly treasured you. You were the last grandparent I had left and I was so lucky I had 24 years to know you and be loved by you. I hope you are having a wonderful birthday in heaven. I'll be seeing you 

Ohhhh how I miss you. You are in my dreams often. But I can tell you now, "dream hugs" are not the same. I love you Mamaw.

It's been a little over two months since you left this earth and it still doesn't feel real. I still feel like you're right next door even though I know you're not. Your spirit lingers in our hearts and memories. I can't wait until I see you again, Mamaw. I love you "more than you could ever know".

It was a bittersweet moment to hear of her passing: sadness for the loss of her physical presence, yet joy for her Homecoming in a land where there are no tears or pain or death ever again! I'll never forget, growing up, the many times she grew so exasperated with us, with all our shenanigans, pursing her lips and giving us The Stare.  I loved teasing her and she was always so gracious and loving. Such fun to be with.  I will be holding all of you in my thoughts and prayers in these coming days, weeks, months. My dear sweet Mother, It is still very hard for me to believe that have died. Even though it was very hard seeing you these last 8 weeks going through such pain, my heart is filled with happiness knowing that you are in such a better place and no longer hurting.  You will always be remembered with such love & happiness.  This holiday season we'll be missing you, but, you are now with Daddy in heaven and your life has come full circle. Doris has always been a second Mother to me, Doris & Jack were like my parents through several periods of my life growing up. I felt Her kids were my kids too, having had them with me so often, & my kids were like theirs as well,  With our families spending lots of time together especially all the holidays, before we moved to Michigan, and afterwards too. We've always had a very close relationship/ friendship & I will always treasure that & I will sorely miss it. All our loving thoughts embrace you & your precious family always & forever. We are rejoicing with you ( and envying you too) as you celebrate that joyous homecoming reunion in Heaven with Jesus & all the loved ones there. Our loss is Heaven's gain. You were such a loving mom and it was so hard to see you go through the many stages that dementia had thrown at you.
I never thought that when you went to the hospital for your bronchitis that you would never be coming back home. As  much as none of us wanted to let you go, we know that God in His mercy had other plans for you.
