Douglas Arthur Hill, or Doug to his family & friends, 68, Orlando, Florida, passed away on Sunday, April 14, 2019. Doug was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on May 8, 1950 to the late Floyd and Marian (Boyd) Hill. He is preceded in death by his brother, Steven Hill, and his brother-in-law, Richard Jennings, as well as his Aunt Verda Hill and Uncle Noel Boyd.
Doug was an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War. He worked most of his life as an electronic technician and salesman. He resided in Fort Wayne until 1986, when he moved to the Nashville, Tennessee area. In 1989, he relocated to Orlando, Florida, where he remained the rest of his life. He loved the Florida lifestyle, especially the mild winters and abundant beaches. He was interested in the space program, and was also a classic car enthusiast. One of his prized possessions was a 1966 Ford Mustang convertible.
He is survived by his sister, Karen Jennings, Fremont, Indiana, his step-daughter, Désirée VanBurger, and his grandson, Isaiah Tanon, as well as several nephews and nieces.
A commitment service will be held Thursday, May 2, 2019 at 12:30 p.m. at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, 5525 U. S. Highway 1, Mims, Florida, followed by a Celebration of Life at the home of Ms. Gloria Gladieux on May 2, 2019, 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
