Edith graduated from Winter Park High school, received her Nursing degrees from Orange Memorial Hospital and University of Tennessee. After graduating, she enlisted in the Armed Nurses Corps during the Korean War and was a Flight nurse, earning the rank as 2nd Lieutenent.
She was married to the late Roger T Woolsey.
Edith had a career as a surgical nurse at Walter Reed Hospital and the National Institute of Health.
She was a member of Orange County Artist League, several Nurses organizations and had a passion for painting, traveling, snow skiing and gardening..
She was preceded in death by her Mother, Barbara S. Risser and Father, Miles L Risser, and Brother Morris Risser.
She is survived by her brother, Richard Risser (Shirley) Apopka, Florida, nieces, nephews and many friends.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Woodlawn Funeral home in Gotha, Florida. A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 24, 2019 at 10:30 am.
