It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Edward Walter Kalegi, 78. Ed worked for Conrail for 30 years and most recently, 13 years as a crossing guard for The Edison Police Department Crossing Guard Division. So proud of this position and loved by all who knew him. Eds kind nature made him an instant friend to everyone he met. Always easy going and everyones happiness was more important than his own. Ed always had the ability to see the bright side.
A true lover of sports, he was a lifelong fan of the Mets and wore his Mets jacket with pride. Watching Bob Ross paint gave him so much enjoyment. Ed always loved birds and nature and loved visiting Lake Apopka here in Florida. Becoming a Disney pass holder Ed found joy in going to all the parks with his family and particularly loved riding Pirates of the Caribbean. It was amazing seeing him experience so much and make so many incredible memories in the 13 months since his move. Ed loved making people laugh with his clever jokes.
