

Edwin “Ed” Miller, 95, of Winter Park, FL, passed away November 25, 2013. He was born on May 26, 1918, to the late Harry and Katherine Miller of Baltimore, MD. Ed was a US Army veteran who served in the Pacific Theater during World War II. After the war, Ed worked as a retail buyer for the Island Creek Stores Company for 35 years in Logan, WV. It was there that he met Merle, his beloved wife of 48 years. Together they had one daughter, Pamela Jenkins of Buford, GA. Upon retirement in 1987, Ed and Merle moved to Winter Park, FL and spent many happy times together until Merle’s passing in 1995. Ed was known as an honorable man who was loved and respected by many who will miss him dearly. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who enjoyed salt water fishing on the Florida Coast. Ed especially loved to share his passion for fishing with his grandchildren and extended family.
Ed was preceded in his passing by his wife, Merle, brothers Russell and Gordon, and friend Dorothy Drabic. He is survived by his daughter Pamela Jenkins, grandchildren Michael Jenkins and Jennifer Hogan, and Jennifer’s husband Ian. He is also survived by niece Madge Cadell, nephew Gordon, Jr., and extended family Lois Gregory, Dorothy and Don Smith, and Susanna Tocco.
Visitation will be held Sunday, December 1, 2013 from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 pm at Woodlawn Funeral Home in Gotha, Florida. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 in the Chapel.
