

Edwina Beatrice Martin, 92, of Orlando, Florida died Saturday, January 3rd. She was born to the late Daniel and Emily MacDonald, May 9th 1922, in Birch Grove, Canada. At the age of three, Edwina’s family immigrated to the United States, eventually settling in Mansfield, Massachusetts where she grew up, met her future husband at the age of 17 and graduated Mansfield High School in 1940. She spent four years in nurses training and shortly after was married. She had a long happy life as a registered nurse, wife to Sherman D. Martin, and mother of three children residing in Orlando since 1963 after years of adventure in the travel that came with her husband’s duty in military service.
Edwina is survived by 2 of three children: her daughter, Toni Grace Hale and son, Daniel Malcolm Martin, (Michael Martin d.1969), 5 of her 6 grandchildren: Justin Hale, Stacey Fitch, Michael Hale, Christian Martin, Pryor Hale, (Jennifer Martin d.1998), and ten great-grandchildren: Hannah Sweat, Erin Martin, James Fitch, Patrick Fitch, Tyler Hale, Lauren Martin, Drew Hale, Jack Hale, Joseph Fitch, and Ashley Hale.
Memorial services will be held at 4pm on Friday, January 9th at St. Mary of the Angels Episcopal Church, Orlando where the fellowship of friends in her Golden years kept her active and eating well. Her legacy are the friends and family that she left behind in fond remembrance of her kindness and generosity shown to all. On this day we will honor her and be filled with the spirit of her unconditional love.
