Eloise Hughes Salamone, 83, of Orlando, Florida passed away on Friday May 2, 2014. Mrs. Salamone was born on June 13, 1930 in Rome, Georgia to the late Hubert and Selma Hughes. Mrs. Salamone worked as a Police Officer in Atlanta, Georgia for five years. As part of her love for the department, she also would take children from Atlanta to Washington to D.C. to let them explore all the sites. She enjoyed oil painting, ceramics, afghan quilting and her biggest love of all was the outdoors and gardening. People would often drive by to take pictures of the results of the hard and beautiful work she put into her garden. Mrs. Salamone will be dearly missed by all of her family and friends. She is survived by her loving husband John Salamone, daughter, Pamela J. Manning, sisters, Shirley Hulsey and Katherine David, brother Hubert (Joanne) Hughes, grandchildren, Morgana Manning, Paul (Yan) White, great grandchildren, Anthony White and Angela White. She is also survived by her first husband Leonard Manning. She was preceded in death by her daughter Sharla Mae Manning, her granddaughter, Melissa White and her brother Jessie Seaborn Williams. The family would like to give their heartfelt thanks to all the nurses and doctors who took care of her over the years. Visitation will be held on Thursday May 8, 2014 from 11:00 to 12:00 with a service at 12:00 noon at Woodlawn Funeral Home in Gotha. A Celebration of Life Reception and refreshments will be held from 12:30 to 2:30pm with internment to follow. Woodlawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
