Emmanuel George Williams was born on Tuesday, November 26, 1946, in Oranjestad, Aruba to Catherine Williams (née Alexander) and Augustine Williams. Affectionately known as "Manuel" or "Mannie," he was admired for his warm smile, generous heart, quiet strength, and unwavering dedication to his family. He possessed a kind spirit that drew people to him and a wisdom that made him a trusted friend and confidant.
Catherine Veronica Purcell-Williams was born to Sentilia Cynthia Richards and Leonard Anthony Purcell on Tuesday, September 25, 1945 in St. George’s Grenada . Catherine was a woman of grace, compassion, and steadfast faith whose love and nurturing spirit touched countless lives. Her kindness, resilience, and devotion to family created a legacy that will continue for generations to come.
On February 26, 1978, Catherine and Mannie united in holy matrimony, beginning a remarkable journey together that would span nearly five decades. Through life's joys and challenges, they remained devoted partners, demonstrating the true meaning of commitment, faithfulness, and unconditional love. Their marriage was a shining example to all who knew them.
After sharing forty-eight years of love and companionship, all the while raising five children, Lois Veronica de Govia- Purcell (Dean Ible) Gary Anthony Williams (So Young Oh) , Ron Gerard Williams (deceased), Crystle Emmaline Williams-Stewart (Naron Stewart) , and ShaVonne Catherine Williams, Mannie peacefully entered eternal rest on Friday, May 29, 2026. Just nine days later, on Sunday, June 7, 2026, Catherine joined her beloved husband in rest. Though separated for a brief moment in time, their love story remains forever etched in the hearts of those they leave behind.
Together, they built a legacy rooted in faith, family, perseverance, and love. Their home was a place of welcome, encouragement, and laughter. Their lives were marked by service to others, devotion to family, and a deep appreciation for the blessings God bestowed upon them.
While their physical presence will be deeply missed, in addition to their children, their memories, values, and love will continue to live on through grandchildren Quiana Jones-Reynolds (Bryan Reynolds), Dr. D’Andra Jones, De Vaughn Akoon-Purcell (Audrey Akoon-Purcell), DeJah Akoon, Destyne Akoon, Donovyn Akoon, Milan Taneya McKinny, Khalani de Govia-Purcell, London Emma Stewart, Caleb Emmanuel Stewart, and Christian Colton Stewart, along with great -grand children, Kheon Isaiah Daniel Jones, Kalyse Clair Gabriel, Askari Akoon, and Creed Akoon-Purcell.
They are also lovingly remembered by the close knit Purcell sisters and brothers, Mannie’s brothers, Anslem Williams (Clementina Williams),Denis Williams, Oliver Williams, and his sister Virginia Noel, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, dear friends, and countless others, whose lives were enriched by their kindness, wisdom, faith, and love.
As we celebrate their lives, we take comfort in God's promise of resurrection and eternal life. We rejoice in knowing that their earthly journey has ended, but their legacy and love endure forever.
