

Emory Allen Reedy, Jr. died on Friday October 30, 2015. Mr. Reedy was born on July 5, 1931, to the Rev. Emory Allen Reedy and Mary Ethel Yates Reedy in Dickerson County, Virginia. Mr. Reedy was predeceased by his parents, seven siblings and a stepson, Ronald Alan Brust. He is survived by wife, Connie Wilson Reedy, and his children Mark Kiah (Vickie), Gregory Allen and Shari Lynn Isbell (Chris) and a stepdaughter Leslie Exum (Larry). Also surviving are his grandchildren, Hail Elaine Reedy, Cameron Kiah Reedy, Matthew Ryan Isbell and Alex Christopher Isbell, his previous wife and mother of his children, Jeanette Leach Reedy, a sister, Erma Jo Lane Fielden (Marvel), and a number of nieces and nephews. He was a graduate of Hiwassee Junior College (TN), Emory and Henry College (VA), and East Tennessee State University, where he received his Master’s Degree in Education. After college, he spent two years in the army in the States and in Germany. He taught in Marion High School (VA), and was principal at Kathleen Jr. High, (Polk County), Maitland Jr. High in Orange County, and Director of Secondary Education for Orange County Schools until his retirement in 1990. Emory was admired and loved by all who knew him. He enjoyed lunch with the ROMEOS (Retired Old Men Eating Out) for many years. He always had a joke to tell, but always a clean one. He will be greatly missed by family and friends. Visitation will be held on Wednesday November 4, 2015 from 1:00 p.m. to 200 p.m. with a Funeral Service to follow at 2:00 p.m. at Woodlawn Funeral Home in Gotha. Funeral Services will be officiated by his Nephew Allen Boggs.
