Eulyss "Blackie" F Cox, age 97 passed away on Friday, December 2, 2022 in Orlando Florida. Blackie was born in Knoxville, Tennessee. Eulyss "Blackie" F Cox was born to Ida Mae and William Homer Cox. As a child, he lived in Lonsdale with his sisters Edith and Eula Mae. He also had many cousins whom he loved as siblings for the rest of their lives.
During his early years in the military, Blackie served in the military. Following 20 years of service in the United States Air Force, he retired to Tampa, Florida. Over the course of more than 50 years, he has been a member of the Port Tampa Masonic Lodge (PFT153). He was an enthusiastic and dedicated instructor who truly enjoyed teaching in the lodge.
In the course of his life, he spent the last 40 years of his life in Orlando, living in the Silver Star retirement community, working in the park, participating in the "veterans in the park" program, and having many friends and acquaintances within the community. His involvement with the First Baptist Church of Central Florida spanned many years, up until the point that he was no longer capable of driving himself there. He is preceded in death by his son William David.
He is survived by his daughters Elaine Miller of Nashville TN, Christine Mazzullo of Valrico FL, and son Richard Cox of Tampa, FL, numerous grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
