Exmon Scott

Exmon Fitzgerald Scott, 82, of Ocoee, Florida, passed away on June 4, 2019 in his home. Scotty as he is well known was born in Duckinfield, St. Thomas, Jamaica to Ferdinand and Ina Scott on January 25, 1937. He immigrated to the USA in 1969 where he lived most of his life in Chicago. After retiring from work he moved to Ocoee, Florida to escape the cold.

Scotty worked as a school bus driver for the Wilmette School District for over twenty years. He enjoyed playing cricket and soccer and watching a variety of sports. He was a member of the Evanston/Skokie Cricket Club where he developed lifelong friendships.

Scotty is survived by his wife Rhoda of 50 years, sons Ian Scott, Glen (Marvlin) Lascelles, Clive (Ann Marie) Lascelles, daughter Sonia (Kenneth) Lascelles-Johnson, seven grandchildren, Omar, Stephanie, Shawn, Vaughn, Alicia, Nicole, and Lauren, two great grandchildren, and numerous loving nieces, nephews and extended family . He was preceded in death by his parents, Ferdinand and Ina, sisters, Pearl and Joyce, and brothers, Roy and Insel also known as Bally.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Solid Rock United Methodist Church, 440 S. Kirkman Road, Orlando on Saturday, June 15. Funeral service will be from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Walker-Walker officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Road, Gotha, FL. Repast will be back at the Church after the burial. Woodlawn Memorial Park and Funeral Home is handling the funeral arrangements. Serving as pallbearers will be Ian, Glen, Clive, Omar, Shawn, and Shaun Akinsola

A special thank you to niece Annette, nephew Norbert (Nari), Shanique, Sharon, and Cornerstone Hospice for their loving care and support during my father’s final days. The family would also like to thank everyone for all your calls, cards of well wishes, and prayers during this difficult time. To the members here at the Solid Rock United Methodist Church where my parents attended before their illness, the family cannot thank you enough. It is evident how much you love my parents especially Scotty.
