Frank R. Mervar, 84, Woody Drive, Windermere, died Wednesday, September 21, 2022. He retired from Ride & Show Engineering at the Walt Disney World Resort and Lockheed Martin (Martin Marietta). He was an engineer who expertly designed machines and determined the best way to fix or modify attractions. Frank Richard, also known as Dick, was born on March 9, 1938, in Cleveland, Ohio, to parents Alice Sustarsic Mervar and Frank Mervar. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores Mervar, in 1991. Frank (Dick) was a member of the Army Reserve in the early years of his marriage. The Mervar family lived in Chesterland, Ohio. In August of 1979, the Mervars (including his parents, Alice and Frank) moved to Palm Harbor - Dunedin, Florida. The family made Central Florida their home in 1980 when Frank (Dick) began working for Martin Marietta. Later in his life, Frank (Dick) worked for the Walt Disney World Resort until he retired. Survivors: daughters, Joan, Susan and her husband Dr. Alex Caballero; Sally; son, Jim and his wife Debbie; grandsons, Anthony Marotta, Nicholas Marotta, Nico Caballero, Chad Mesko; granddaughters, DeeAnna Manangu, Alexandra Caballero, Cassie Mesko; great-grandchildren: Millie Marotta, Joey Marotta, and Alex Marotta; and brother, Robert Mervar, Longwood.
Saturday, October 8, 2022, at 11 a.m. there will be a Graveside service with interment at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Gotha, Florida, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Road Gotha, Florida 34734
