Frankie was born in Brunswick, Georgia on May 20th, 1939 to Mildred Ruth Sorrells and Robert Frank Sorrells, both originally from Atlanta, Georgia. Frankie graduated from Chamblee High School in Chamblee, Georgia in 1957. Frankie lived in Atlanta after graduation, she married and eventually moved to Baltimore, Maryland. She became the mother to four children there. (Dianne, Robert, David and John) Frankie’s true-life work was raising her growing family.
In 1966 Frankie moved her family back to Atlanta. There she became very involved in various clubs and organizations and the children’s school activities. One of Frankie’s hobbies was gardening and she became actively involved in the Atlanta Garden Club where she won many awards. She also was instrumental in establishing several social clubs for couples and enjoyed entertaining friends and family in her home. She was the consummate hostess.
In 1972, the family moved to the seaside community of Indialantic, Florida. This is where she began her life long career in real estate. Frankie fell in love with her new career, and this was reflected in her success. She became actively involved in the Eau Gallie Yacht Club’s tennis club and social committees. It was here that she met many friends that have lasted a lifetime.
In 1979, Frankie moved to Arnold Palmer’s golf course community of Bay Hill and remained a resident there for the next 43 years. This is where she continued her very successful real estate career and her love for investing and building custom homes. The custom homes she built were in some of the most exclusive areas of Central Florida. Soon after moving to Orlando, she founded a real estate brokerage company, Batura and Fenner Inc. which quickly became known as one of the top real estate companies in Central Florida. Over the years she worked with many clients including celebrities that adored her and considered her family.
Frankie had a lovely voice and always enjoyed singing. She remarkably knew all the words and could sing along to just about every song she ever heard. We all have fond memories of hearing her humming and singing, especially around the holidays. Frankie was also a great story teller and could captivate her audience. As you can imagine, she had so many interesting stories from her real estate days.
Frankie’s kindness and compassion will be missed forever. Her family finds comfort in knowing that she is no longer suffering and is at peace in heaven.
Frankie is survived by her four children, Dianne Dakota, Robert Balcerak (Karen), David Balcerak (Deanna), John Balcerak; five grandchildren, Brittany Rodgers (Anthony), Ashley Cushman (Adrian), David Balcerak (Catalina), Daniel Balcerak (Kaley), Kaitlin Galvan (Pablo); eight great grandchildren, Jack, Addison, Harper, Graham, Andrew, Camila, Colton and Diego; four sisters, (Linda, Debra, Cathy and Rebecca) and her brother, (Dennis).
