Gary Randall Bakeman

Gary R. Bakeman, 80, of Orlando passed away on October 21, 2016.Gary was born on July 26, 1936 in Minot, North Dakota. He graduated from Riverdale High in North Dakota and attended The Bottineau School of Forestry. After moving to Orlando, he worked for WDBO TV for 14 years as a cameraman, floor manager, and director. Gary then worked for the Orange County Sheriff for 10 years as a Deputy in Court Services. He became certified in Anti-Terrorism, ASP Baton, Pistol and Shotgun. Gary had many talents. He was a Certified Naui Scuba Diver, backpacker, horse packer, fisherman, survivalist, and sailor. He loved dancing,golfing and spending summers in North Carolina. Gary is survived by his daughter Tamara McLanahan (Steve) of Clermont, grandsons Austin Flowers and Dakota McLanahan, lifelong companion Diane Kazaros and sisters Linda Decker of Nevada and Irene Vandenbrink of Seattle. Visitation will be 5pm November 1 at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Gotha. Funeral services will be 2pm November 2 at Real Life Church, 1501 Steve's Road, Clermont . Graveside service will follow at 4pm at Woodlawn. In lieu of flowers, you may make a memorial contribution to your favorite charity.
