George Randall Grimes
October 20, 1954 – November 20, 2019
George “Randy” Randall Grimes was born at Malone Hogan Clinic in Big Spring, Texas on October 20, 1954 to Richard and Lolita Grimes. He went to be with the Lord on November 20, 2019. Randy lived a life full of adventure throughout the United States, mainly spending time in Texas, Colorado, Arkansas and Florida. He was a big fan of golfing, fishing, hunting and camping (anything in the Great Outdoors), but his kids and grandkids were his real treasures. He loved spending time with them and taking them to Disney World. He loved going on cruises, as well as cheering on his favorite football teams-the Texas Longhorns and the Dallas Cowboys. He would also spend lots of happy hours next to his loving dog, Cappy. Randy never met a stranger! Randy was a member of Community Faith United Methodist Church. He was employed in a variety of interesting positions over the years, some of which were manager of a staffing company and owner of his own landscaping company. His last place of employment was probably his favorite-playing carnival games with families at Dollywood! He is survived by his loving wife of 17 years, Elaine Grimes of Davenport, Florida. He is lovingly remembered by his mother, Lolita Grimes, brother, Richard Grimes (Sandy), his son, George Grimes (Sara); daughters, Julie Mumfrey (Doug) and Heather Guerra (Mario); step-son, Brian Hoover (Kristin); grandsons: Nate Guerra, Sam Guerra, Miles Mumfrey, Luke Mumfrey, Jack Grimes and Van Grimes; granddaughters, Ava Hoover and Caitlyn Hoover; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his Paternal Grandparents, George and Emma Grimes and Maternal Grandparents V.C. and Jennie Barber of Big Spring, Texas. His father, Richard S. Grimes, of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, brother Robb S. Grimes of Katy, Texas, sister, Virginia Lynn Grimes, Big Spring, Texas nephew, Jared A. Grimes, Plano, Texas and great niece, Abigale Grace Collis of Rowlett, Texas. Randy attended and graduated from Big Spring Public Schools. He was a member of Meister Singers Choir, Lieutenant Governor of Boys State, on the Big Spring High School Golf Team, Debate Team, a member of First Baptist Church, Youth Choir and Christian Athletes in Big Spring. He served in many capacities of mission work as an adult. Randy attended Howard College, Big Spring and Texas State University, San Marcos, Texas. Memorial services honoring Randy’s life will be held at a later date in both Texas and Florida. Updates will be provided via www.dignitymemorial.com. Where do I start. Meant Randy around 20 years ago when visiting Elaine. He always kept me laughing and was always so fu loving and caring. Randy and elaine came to visit Mike and I in WV where we enjoyed the Forest Festival, a train ride and a lot of good food and late nights on the front porch. I never had a dull moment with Randy. Loved visiting Elaine and Randy every few years and hanging out at the house or visiting Disney. You will be missed Randy.
