'German Bonilla Sr., 77 years old took his last breath the morning of Wednesday, September 21, 2011. He had been ill for quite some time, dealing with complications of diabetes since 1999. He was born June 22, 1934 in Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico, the youngest of six children, four of which still survive him. He moved to New York City in the early 1950’s with his bride, Aida, his childhood sweetheart. There, they raised their two children, son, German Bonilla Jr and daughter, Alma Kirkpatrick.
He and his wife decided they were done with New York’s cold climate and moved to Orlando, Florida in 1990. He saw his two grandsons; German Victor and Daniel Esteban grow up and make him proud. He has also enjoyed his great-grandson, Gabriel German when he visits from Idaho. He and Aida celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary in 2004 and were able to spend almost another seven years together. In younger years, German was known for his practical jokes and kidding personality. He was well regarded by his church family and will be truly missed by all especially Aida.'
