

Gladys M. Perez Rodriguez, 85, passed away Sunday June 29, 2014 at Consulate Health Care of Kissimmee. Gladys was born in El Roque, Province of Matanzas, Cuba to Zoila Estrella Morales and Eugenio "Meño" Perez.
Her formative years into adulthood were spent in Cuba. She married Eugenio "Raul" Rodriguez on August 30, 1952 at the Church of Our Lady of Montserrat in Havana. They had two daughters, Estrella and Mercedes. She was an avid reader and would devour a book in a few days. She was also a gifted seamstress who created her own designs/patterns from scratch using the famed Rocha system.
Mrs. Rodriguez emigrated to the United States on Good Friday, April 8, 1966 and settled in the Little Havana neighborhood of Miami, Florida. She moved to Orlando in August 1990 to be near her daughters.
Her parents, Zoila Estrella and Eugenio, and her husband, Raul, who died on April 17, 2014, all proceeded her in death. She is survived by oldest daughter Estrella Pereira and her children Estry, Manny and Sarah, husband Joseph and Jacob, great grandson and by daughter Mercedes Rodriguez, son in law Frank Leiva, and grandchildren Daniel and Cristina. The family is very grateful for the wonderful and personal care Gladys received at Keystone Villas for the last four years. Most recently she spent four weeks at Consulate Health Care of Kissimmee where she was attended to with love and great care.
