3/15/1949 - 7/15/2026
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Glenn Jackson, age 77, of Winter Garden, Florida on July 15th 2026. After a brief battle of cancer, Glenn passed away peacefully at his home.
Born on March 15th, 1949, Glenn was the son of the late Charlie and Lillian Harris Jackson Roopville, GA. He was a member of and baptized in faith at Roopville Baptist Church in 1963. He graduated from Central high school in Carroll County, GA in 1967.
Glenn was the epitome of living the American dream. He was raised on a dairy farm where work was hard and there were no days off. His dedicated work ethic and faith were instilled from his mother and father which led him from a salesman at Southwire Company in Carrollton, GA to becoming a successful electrical wholesale business owner that served all of central and south Florida. He spent 29 years of his life and his retirement with the love of his life Shelley Jackson. Together they traveled the country and the world abroad. Shelly was lovingly by his side every minute until his last breath.
Glenn had a heart of gold. The number of people in whom he invested, impacted, and loved in his life were countless. His friends, he considered family. There were so many whom he cared for and loved. He built special and long lasting relationships with each of them .
Glenn loved the Georgia Bulldogs with a passion! Each and every weekend in the fall you would find him, his friends, and family pulling for his beloved Dawgs. He never missed a game. Before games, Glenn would be found tending a smoker and grill along with a barbecue sauce recipe his dad had proudly passed down to him all to share with his his friends and neighbors. His BBQ skills were legendary and many friends and family benefitted and learned from Glenn’s love of cooking.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years Shelley Jackson, son Kevin Jackson, sisters Charlene and Joe Harrod, Dana (and the late Charles Gilland), and Anita and Barry Deese. Grandsons: Dustin Jackson, Casey Jackson, Great Grandchildren, Mackenzie Huckabee, Hadley Jackson, Parker Jackson, Bailey-Kate Jackson and Daisey Jackson.
Glenn was preceded in death by his Mother and Father Charlie and Lillian Jackson. It can not go unmentioned to include his dear and life long friend Barry Huff.
Per his wishes, Glenn’s body will be cremated. A Celebration of life will be held in both Winter Garden, FL and Roopville, GA at a later date and time. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Roopville Historical Society, Roopville, GA.
Rest In Peace
