Born in Honolulu, Hawaii on May 5, 1955, Glynise radiated creativity, kindness, compassion, and curiosity. A talented artist, her work over the years ranged from designing art for screen printing and creating retail displays, to painting murals and illustrating a children’s book about a princess named Monroe.
Glynise was also an avid animal lover who spent countless hours caring for and rescuing cats in her adopted home state of Arizona. She extended that same generosity to family and friends, always ready to pitch in when someone needed help, or a shoulder to lean on.
She got a kick out of simple pleasures, finding beauty and enjoyment in things often overlooked by others. On a recent cross-country trip with friends, she marvelled at the sunrise, the sound of the cicadas, and the sudden thunderstorms that she couldn’t get enough of. She also loved watching crime shows and classic movies like Sunset Boulevard (plus, anything with Bette Davis), sipping chai iced teas, playing rummy, and spending time on the phone with her sister.
She is survived by her father, Caleb Willliams, Jr., her sister and best friend Leilani D. Bush, her brother Tony Williams, her niece Kathy Saunders (and husband Ben), numerous friends who loved her like family, and the many “babies” she adopted over the years, including Agustus and Rigley. She lives on in the hearts of those who loved her and the memories of all who knew her.
As she had requested, Glynise’s family will scatter her ashes in Hawaii. Her friends will also host a celebration of her life in Scottsdale, Arizona.
