Born in Pikeville Tennessee in 1932, son of the late Roe and Vera Roberson, he would have turned 90 on January 25th. He was the oldest of 6 children.
He attended the public schools in Bledsoe County and graduated from Tennessee Tech in Cookeville, Tennessee with a degree in Agronomy and Crop Science. There he met and married Sally Belle Howe in September 1954. They had 5 children. He served in the army at Fort Belvoir Virginia where he taught soils, then lived in various southern states before settling in Florida in 1965. He was active in his church and community, always willing to lend a helping hand to whatever needed to be done.
Preceded in death by his wife, Sally Belle Roberson, his parents, Roe and Vera Roberson, and brother Tom Roberson. “Red” leaves to cherish his memory three sons and daughters in law, Ken (Teena) Roberson, Jim (Julie) Roberson, Paul (Lisa) Roberson; and two daughters, Terry Wagener and Mary (Tim) Keating. Along with 9 grandchildren, Anna Roberson, Adam (Melissa) Roberson, Deysia Roberson, Ashley Keating, Timothy (Jordan) Keating III, Kathryn (Patrick) Weis, Joni (David) Erwin, Jessie (Jeff) Hopkins, Jake Roberson: six and a half great grandchildren; Landon Erwin, Dylan Roberson, Brooke Roberson, Nathan Hopkins, Peyton Hopkins, Anabelle Keating, and baby Weis; as well as his long-time companion and friend Judy Daugherty. Sisters, Crocia Roberson and Sally Swor and sister-in-law Huette Roberson, brothers, Jiggs (Louise) Roberson and Bob Roberson, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Winter Garden First United Methodist Church at 155 N. Lakeview Ave. Winter Garden Fl. At 10:30 AM on Monday Jan. 24th.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes for a loving donation to be made to the mission fund at First United Methodist Church of Winter Garden, 125 North Lake View, Winter Garden FL, 34787 .
