

With profound sadness, the family of Harry Rowland Strange announces his passing on Friday, February 27th at the age of 84. Born in Waynesboro, Georgia on 27 January 1942. He was the son of the late William Thomas Strange, Jr. and Savannah Rowland Strange both life long residents of Georgia. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
He was a long time resident of Gotha, Florida previously living in Pine Hills, Florida where he relocated in 1967 with his family following his service in the Marines at Quantico, VA. Harry established a small business in Winter Park, Florida upon his arrival, after selling this business he worked for the Walt Disney World Company for 29 years. Harry started his career at WDW in the machine shop and migrated his talents to the Ride & Show Engineering group supporting the mechanical design on all the rides in the Magic Kingdom, most of the rides at Epcot and Disney MGM Studios. Following Harry’s retirement from WDW he continued to utilize his design and mechanical skills to establish a manufacturing company with his eldest son (Dale) where he remained an active contributor until his passing.
Harry was a very dedicated family man who is predeceased by 3 of his siblings (Hilda, Joyce, and William “Bill”). He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Yvonne; his 4 children; Dale (Jackie), Lisa, Jason (Nicole), Michael (Rachel), 14 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and his sister Mary Strange as well as several loving nieces and nephews and a special sister-in-law Christina Osburn.
Harry was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and was part of the Lake Butler Ward.
The family welcomes friends, neighbors, coworkers, and fellow congregation members to join in a service to celebrate a life well lived on the 14th of March at Woodlawn Memorial Park Funeral Home in Gotha, FL. The visitation will begin at 11:00 A.M., followed by the funeral service at 12:00 P.M. with a graveside dedication and military honors ceremony beginning approximately at 1:30 P.M.
