Haydée was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, and shared a beautiful life with her beloved husband, Hector Juan Bahamonde Sr., who passed away in 2015. In 1953, they moved to New York, NY, with hopes of creating a brighter future for their family.
Haydée devoted her life to raising seven children, surrounding them with unconditional love and teaching the importance of faith and family. She and Hector often said they were “millionaires” because of the love they shared with their children—a sentiment that defined their lives.
Her faith was her guiding light. Haydée prayed daily and lived by the words, “If it’s God’s will, let it be.” Every conversation with her children ended with, “I love you and may God be with you,” a blessing they will cherish forever.
She loved music, dancing, and cooking, and her home was the heart of joyful celebrations. Christmas and New Year’s gatherings were filled with laughter, delicious meals, and dancing that brought everyone together.
Haydée leaves behind a legacy of love and faith. Though deeply missed, she is reunited with her husband and at peace with God. She is preceded in death by her son Hector Juan Bahamonde, Jr. She is survived by six children—Iris Perez (spouse Joe), George Bahamonde, Robert Bahamonde, Charlie Bahamonde (spouse Denise), Sandi Reddish (spouse Jeff), and Miriam Adams—along with 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren, and her brother, Ramon Roman.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 6, at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 5125 S Apopka Vineland Rd, Orlando, FL 32819. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to her favorite charities: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Feed The Children, and Care.
From the Family:
“Mom taught us that love and faith are the greatest gifts we can give. Her strength, kindness, and unwavering devotion will live on in our hearts forever. Thank you for honoring her memory and celebrating the beautiful life she lived.”
