Herbert Edwards, 87, of Geneva, Florida (formerly of Orlando) passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at Hospice of the Comforter Hospice House. He was born on March 24, 1926 in Tabor City, North Carolina to the late E.D. and Helen (Hataway) Edwards. Herbert was proud to serve his country in the United States Navy, retiring as a Chief after 23 years. He served in World War II and the Korean Conflict. Herbert was a life member of VFW Post 4287 – Orlando and of the NCOA along with being a member of the American Legion Post 53-Sanford, the Fleet Reserve Association and a Plank Owner of the U.S. Navy Memorial. He enjoyed growing vegetables and grooming his yard. The outdoors was always enjoyed by Herb. Survivors include his beloved wife of 67 years, Hazel Edwards; sons, Ronnie (Karen) Edwards, Ricky Edwards; daughter, Georgia (Joe) Fetterhoff; brother, Jessie Hodge; grandson, Kyle Edwards.
