

He was born in Gainesville, FL on September 11, 1958. He was married to the love of his life, Marsha Ergle for 37 years. He had a career in management where he took pride in his job at Star Meats & Produce where he had worked for over 40 years.
The most important things to Hoyt was his Faith, his family, and his friends. He was a Christian. He loved God and God’s word. He loved reading his Bible, and had done so,18 times.
He loved his family and his friends. He enjoyed getting together for celebrations, conversation and sharing laughs with friends and family. He loved his Grandchildren, and was always so proud to be a Grandpa “Papa”.
Hoyt followed NASCAR, football, and stocks and was always quick to place a bet with his sons. He was a big history buff, he enjoyed collecting antiques, and anything with a historic story or value. He enjoyed music, fishing, playing poker and taking vacations.
Aside from his wife, Marsha. Hoyt is survived by his Children: James and Silas (Sarah). He is also survived by his Grandchildren: James Jr. “JJ”, Rylee, Allie and Josephine “Joey”; his brothers and sisters: Brenda (Joe) Liddon, Johnny (Linda) Mahaley, Shirlene Mahaley, Karen (Joe) Stickland, Wanda (Carlton) Hamm, and a Grandchild by love Brooklyn.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Hoyt Ergle Sr. and Shirley Mahaley. He is also preceded in death by his brother Frankie Mahaley.
A public visitation for Hoyt will be held Thursday, February 16, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Woodlawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Road, Gotha, FL 34734. A celebration of life service will occur Thursday, February 16, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Road, Gotha, FL 34734. A graveside committal will occur Thursday, February 16, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Road, Gotha, FL 34734.
