Irene Lucille Flowers

Irene L. Flowers, age 82, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 8, 2026. Born in Mishawaka, IN on October 27, 1943, Irene lived in Orlando, FL since 1970. She is preceded in death by her parents, Steve and Julia Eazsol and her husband, David F. Flowers. Irene and David wed in 1963 and spent 58 years in marriage. Since his death in 2021, Irene has spent reminiscing on memories with him and spoke how much she was looking forward to seeing him again in heaven.

She is survived by her two children and their spouse, whom she loved with all her heart. Her daughter, Renee (William) Sneed of DeLand, FL; a son Robert (Patty) Flowers of Orlando, FL; and a sister, Lillian (Edmund) Verzele of Mishawaka, IN.

Irene was a graduate of Mishawaka High School of 1961 and in Orlando worked in the Hospitality industry for 10 years and Orange County Public Schools for 22 years. For several years, she taught Sunday School for children in grades 4 thru 6. On her chalkboard in class, she always had this prayer, “Dear God, I want to take a minute, not to ask for anything, but to thank you for all I have.”

Irene’s hobbies included reading, music, flower gardening, and most important, shopping. Besides being a faithful member of Southside Baptist Church of Orlando, she was a person of giving. She would often give gifts to friends for no reason. Although a quiet person, those who really knew her appreciated her sense of humor.

A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date with immediate family. Memorial contributions can be made in Irene’s memory to Southside Baptist Church of Orlando.
