Isri Persaud died peacefully at his home on August 17, 2020. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Indranie, his two grown daughters, Babita and Nivedita, and his teenage grandson, Oliver.
Isri was a successful businessman, owning a dry cleaning chain in Seminole County and a package shipping store in West Palm Beach. He was born in Guyana and grew up on a sugar estate on the West Coast Demerara. He and his family immigrated to New York in 1970. This September would have been his 50th anniversary in the United States.
Boating and fishing were his favorite hobbies, as well as spending time with his grandson. Isri was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Winter Garden.
He believed strongly in education, achievement and the American dream. He loved being on the water and as a tribute to his passion, his ashes will be scattered at sea near Ponce Inlet, where he used to keep his boat, Lady Ranie.
