Mr Liston was my 8th grade chemistry teacher. He was the epitome of a 1950's mad scientist, I remember him walking the halls with his long blue lab coat flowing and the aroma of his pipe wafting through the air. He was in his last years of teaching and we became friends, my natural curiosity for chemistry led to many afternoons in his office quizzing him about his knowledge, which he shared freely. He spoke often and fondly of his wife and occasionally pulled a magic trick out of his ancient leather satchel. He warned me not to admit to him if I ran into him in later years that I hadn't taken organic chemistry in college...something that I didn't take and unfortunately never had to admit, although had I known that he was still with us I would have enjoyed kicking up my feet and chatting once again. For his relatives and wife, please know that he made a huge imprint on my life and I am fortunate to have known him. (Apopka Jr High, Fl)

My Uncle Jimmy was the smartest man -- he could grasp chemistry and math like a genius.  I'm sure that he was an amazing teacher and helped many students through the years. He had a great gift for magic and had he not shared it during one of his famous magic shows, I may not have ever been exposed to this art.  Boy, were we amazed time after time, trick after trick!  It was great fun when Aunt Lou and Uncle Jim planned a special visit for us.  For 54 years, they were partners.  I appreciate how Uncle Jim shared Aunt Lou with us so that we could travel the world together. What memories we made. God Bless You both and know that we will care for Aunt Lou with all our hearts.

Uncle Jimmy, I still remember the magic shows you put on for us when the cousins were little. You taught me a few of the basic magic tricks and I remember you telling me that it's all physics and slight of hand. I felt so smart! :) We were so lucky to have you in our lives. Aunt Lou, I am so sorry for your loss. You really are a model of strength, endurance and grace. I love you so much and wish I could be there physically to support you.
