Jim was born in Kansas City, Kansas on June 9, 1939, the son of Dr. Paul and Gretta Wright. Although he lived in other places throughout his life, Jim remained an avid Kansas Jayhawks fan.
Jim attended Geneva College and graduated from the University of Kansas with a BA degree, where he studied both Anatomy/Physiology and English, planning to follow in his father’s footsteps into the medical field. It was during this time that Jim felt the call into full-time ministry and attended The Reformed Presbyterian Theological Seminary in 1966.
Jim met his wife, Judy, during his time at seminary and they were married May 17, 1969, in North Hills, Pittsburgh, PA. He served as an assistant pastor in Syracuse, NY, before being called to pastor the Orlando Congregation for 26 years. During this time Jim served in a number of leadership roles within the RPCNA including time as Director of Covfamikoi Family Conference and Program Director for the National Conference. After retiring from full-time ministry, Jim worked as a Chaplain for Advent Health.
Jim is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Judith Ann (Mills) Wright and his sister Nancy Wright Hemphill.
He is survived by his two children, Brian Wright and Stephanie Garrow, and his treasured grandchildren, Jackson, Molly, Mason, and Emily.
