James (Jamie) Arthur Prather, IV, 64, of Casselberry, FL, went to be with his lord and savior on June 12, 2016. Born October 31, 1951 in Shepherdstown, West Virginia, he was the son of James Arthur Prather, III, and Rebecca Demory Prather. In his youth he was an acolyte at the United Methodist Church of Shepherdstown of which he was a member. He graduated from Shepherdstown High School where he was awarded Drum Major of the marching band and played drums in the local jazz band, “Stack Jazz.” It was during these formative years that Jamie’s giving and passionate spirit and love for music began to grow. Shortly after graduating he started a career with the CIA, but music continued to play a significant part of his life and led him to working at the once WXVA radio station in Charles Town, WV. Jamie continued to dream big and turned his aspirations of owning his own business into a reality. Starting with Art Amusements, an amusement ride company co-owned and operated with his father, which was based in Coney Island, NY and later Orlando, FL. He later went to work for Venture Rides, an amusement manufacturing company, before once again owning his own business Premier Vending, which started out as a snack company and turned into his most recent venture of arcade gaming systems. Throughout his life Jamie exuded a kind and loving spirit that he gladly shared with his family and others, including giving a portion of his company profits and personal time to the National Federation of the Blind. He is survived by wife Sadie (Sara) of Casselberry, FL; two daughters, Crystal Prather-Parsons of Casselberry, FL and Janelle Kirkland of Tallahassee, FL; son-in-law Tony Kirkland of Tallahassee, FL, granddaughter Hailey Parsons of Casselberry, FL; three sisters, Deborah Fritts of Charles Town, WV, Corrine Tolliver of Altamonte Springs, FL, and Melissa Silecchia of Orlando, FL; two nephews, J.D.
