Mrs. Janie Proctor, 91, was called home to be with the Lord on January 22, 2013. Janie was predeceased by her parents, Mr. Henry Clifford and Corrine Demps, and five sisters and two brothers. She was born on July 20, 1921 in Orlando, Florida. Janie grew up in Orlando and attended Orange County public schools. She was a faithful member of the Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church of Orlando, Florida.
Janie was predeceased by her loving husband of 60 years, Colie Proctor, and her youngest daughter, Agnes Turner. She was a devoted mother to her children, and was endeared with the name “Nana” by her grandchildren, family, and friends. Nana and her husband, Colie, loved to host the holiday dinners at their home for the family. Christmas Day and Thanksgiving Day family dinners were always a big event at the Proctor home, which always led off with a prayer, and then a bible verse by each family member. Nana loved tending to her garden and always enjoyed visits from friends and family.
Janie is survived by her children and spouses: two daughters, Bettye Gill, Orlando, FL; Constance Williams (Clarence), Colorado Springs, CO; three sons, Edward Proctor, Clifford Suluki (Annie Bell), and Derrexs Suluki, Orlando, FL; 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins; and numerous other loving relatives and friends who will miss her.
