

Born to Joseph Gosselin and Clara Gosselin, Jeanne lived a life defined by faith, generosity, and service to her community. She touched countless lives through her kindness, leadership, warm friendship and commitment to helping others.
Jeanne shared a loving marriage of more than 52 years with her beloved husband, George Fortier, whom she survived by more than 20 years.
Jeanne was active in community organizations throughout her life. While living in Washington, D.C., she was a member of the Capital Speakers Club, a nonprofit organization dedicated to public speaking, leadership development and the advancement of women. She also had a wide range of interests and community involvements, including helping to found the Greybrooke Garden Club in Pittsburgh in 1969, where she served as president.
One of Jeanne's greatest accomplishments was serving as the founding member of the Central Florida Women's League, a nonprofit organization dedicated to philanthropy, leadership and community impact. Comprised of more than 100 members, the organization is committed to advancing opportunities for charity, service, scholarship, and culture throughout the Orlando area. Through the dedication of its members, the Central Florida Women's League has donated more than $3 million to Orlando-area nonprofit organizations and provided thousands of dollars in college scholarships to deserving students. Through her vision, leadership, and commitment, Jeanne helped establish an organization whose impact will be felt for generations to come.
In Jeanne's words, “As a person, I can only do so much, but with the help of many, it multiplies, and then we can truly make a difference in the community.”
Jeanne was also a faithful member of Holy Family Catholic Church, where she worshiped for more than 35 years.
Jeanne is survived by her sons, Gregory, and his wife, Donna, and their children, Skylar Fortier of Jacksonville, Florida and Morgan and her husband Adam of New York City, Kevin, and his wife, Karin and their daughters, Allison Fortier of Warrington PA, and Karey Beach and her husband Ryan, currently stationed in Germany, Brian and his wife, Tracey, and their daughters, Ashley Fortier of Richmond, VA and Erin Towler and her husband Hobs of Richmond, VA and great-grandchildren Declan and Finley Towler and Lucy Beach.
Visitation will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Park and Funeral Home on Friday, July 24, 2026, from 4-7 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held on July 25, 2026, at 11am at Holy Family Catholic Church, with a reception to follow at Isleworth Country Club.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to all who provided care, friendship, and support throughout Jeanne's life, and a special appreciation for the exceptional care she received in her final years from her caregivers at Senior Ways.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be be made to the Central Florida Women's League: www.cfwl.org continuing the charitable mission that was so important to Jeanne throughout her life.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, July 25 from 11:00 to 12:00 p.m. Followed by a reception and celebration of life will then follow at Isleworth Country Club from 12:30 to 3:30 P.M.
