

Morton SR, John Hal, 91 of Orlando, entered eternal rest on June 28, 2013 awaiting the resurrection. John was born and raised in Arcadia, Fl. After graduating from De Soto High School in 1938, he joined the North West conservation corp. In February 1941, he enlisted in the Navy, seeing combat in the Aleutian Islands, leaving the Navy in 1947. Re-enlisting in the Air Force in 1948, John retired as Master Sergeant in 1962. He joined the USPS as a letter carrier, serving Conway Acres, retiring in 1977. John was an avid videographer, bicyclist, and bowler. He enjoyed volunteer work, RV travel, and cruising. He was a lifetime member of the Air Force Sergeants Association and the National association of Letter Carriers. John died peacefully, at home, preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Verna Morton, and brother Mitchell and Pauline Morton. He is survived by his brother James (Suzanne) Morton, Eileen Morton, his wife of 65 years, there children Sue (Garry) Simpson, John (Linda) Morton Jr, Luise (Skip) Edwards; 5 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 400 Woodland Cemetery Rd, Gotha Fl, 34734, 407-293-1361. Visitation will begin at 9am with services at 10am. Family and friends will gather after the services at the Seventh Day Adventist Church located at 1112 Oak Ridge Rd. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Wounded Warriors Project or Hospice of the Comforter.
