Joe was born in La Grange, Illinois on February 21, 1976 and called the Orlando area home for more than 35 years. A graduate of Dr. Phillips High School and attendee of the University of Florida, he was a proud Gator. Joe, his wife Avery, and their two children shared a passion for the outdoors and travel and enjoyed spending time together with family and friends.
Joe was a deeply caring spirit with a sense of humor uniquely his own. His daughter, Paige, is daddy’s girl through and through, and his son, Connor, is his best buddy who so admired him. Joe’s legacy of love and caring will live on through his children and all who knew him.
Joe is survived by his wife, Avery Hawarah Houdek; his daughter, Paige; his son, Connor; his mother, Mary Bangora; his step-father, Carl Bangora; his sisters, Patricia Castro (Mike) and Marliss Houdek and many cousins, nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles.
Joe is preceded in death by his father, Joseph Houdek; his paternal grandparents, Joseph A. & Angela Houdek and his maternal grandparents, Leo & Maria Zaragoza.
We would like to invite all those that loved our Joey to come celebrate his life and share the wonderful memories of our time with him.
Please gather with us at Woodlawn Funeral Home on Monday, September 3, 2018 from 3:00pm – 7:00pm. Collective sharing of memories and recollections begins at 4:00pm and all are welcome to contribute.
Joe’s Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00pm on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at Lifebridge Church, 12120 Chase Rd, Windermere, Florida. Reception to follow at the home of Mike and Patricia Castro. The Castro home is located at 6921 Northwich Dr., Windermere, Florida.
