My dear Uncle/Godfather, we will miss you. I will never forget a time when we lived with your family, how you treated me like one of your own, even though you already had five! You never made me feel like I was in the way. We will always remember how delicious your arroz con gandules was, or how mouth watering your apple crumb pie was. For a man who never owed or drove a car, you sure had more ministries than most people with several vehicles at their disposal. Your love for the Lord Jesus Christ was always so evident on your face, and in all you did. Rest in peace, GOOD AND FAITHFUL SERVANT. We will see each other again one day. We love you.

My deepest sympathy to all of you, Blanca, Maria, Sammy, Lydia, Alicia, Casilda.  I am so sorry I was not there, but my heart was with all of you.  I loved Ista; he will be missed and I can really say I know how you all feel.  I remember the last time I saw him (last year); he knew me and we just talked.  I remember his good cooking, his rolitos, cakes, pies que traia del trabajo.  Let me remember him on his sofa because for me it's less painful. My son-in-law, David Lucas, remembers him because when David was in the hospital Ista visited him almost every day and brought him a slice of pie or piece of cake even though he could not eat at that time. Rest in peace, dear Ista. With my love to you all, Aunt Rate and Al.

Fifty-six years ago you took me to a Billy Graham Festival at Madison Square Garden.  I will never forget how excited you were when I walked up front to give my life to our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.  I am still in love with our wonderful God and forever grateful to you, my dear Ista.  We will have our reunion someday when the Lord calls me home.

Samuel, Blanca Nieve, Maria, Ana Lydia y Alicia, quiero compartir este mensaje ustedes, el cual senti asi necesitaba hacerlo.

"Como no creer en Dios, cuando conocemos personas que han llegado a nuestra vida y han dejado huellas que nunca podremos olvidar.

Samuel quien diria que cuando me pedistes que fuera hasta la casa de tu Papa en Caguas y le llevara un regalo de cumpleanos el me acogeria como si me conociera de mucho tiempo.  Aunque esto paso hace cerca de 39 atras los recuerdo como si hubiera sido ayer.

Siempre me gustaba sentarme a escucharlo me encantaba oir sus cuentos y historias sobre su vida, pero sobre todo su calor humano, sus abrazos eran como de un verdadero Padre para mi.  Pues yo nunca recuerdo esto de mi padre.

Nunca recuerdo haber oido una palabra de negatividad o de vanidad de su boca. Su humildad era una de las Gracias que Dios le regalo y que siempre demostro.

Pero su Fe y su Amor a Dios fue una de las cosas que mas me hizo quererlo y respetarlo.

Es interesante saber que el mes de febrero es el mes del Amor y es justo en el mes de febrero cuando Dios ha elegido llevarse y recibir en su Reino a tres de mis seres queridos (mi mami, mi hermano y ahora tu papi).   

Es ahora con mas capacidad que entiedo que El Amor, el dolor y el sufrimiento nos unen y nos llevan hacia el verdadero AMOR.  El amor a DIOS nuestro Senor, Rey y Salvador."
