Karen was born in Huntington, NY to Joan and Thomas Moisan on December 11, 1966. She graduated from Afton Central School in 1985 and received a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Binghamton University in 1989. Karen’s working career was at IVCI in Afton, NY where she rose to the position of Chief Financial Officer. In 2003, the family relocated to Orlando, Florida where Karen became very active in Holy Family Catholic Church, various charities, and caring for her parents. Karen’s passion was playing tennis in several Orlando area leagues.
Karen is survived by her loving husband, Don; her son Michael and his wife, Jennifer, of Winter Park, FL; her daughter Katherine and her husband, Philip, of Orlando, FL. She is also survived by her brother Thomas (Karen) Moisan, brother Kevin Moisan; sister Elizabeth (Brian) Komrska; and brother Ken Moisan. She was predeceased by her parents.
Viewing hours will be held from 6:00-9:00 PM on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at Woodlawn Memorial Park Funeral Home in Gotha, FL with prayer service to be held at 8:00 PM.
A Funeral Mass in Karen’s honor will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church in Orlando, FL, on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at 1:00 PM. A graveside service will be held at Dr. Phillips -North Cemetery following the Funeral Mass.
Don, Michael, and Kate would like to thank all of our family and friends for all of the love, prayer, and support during this difficult time. We would also like to thank the doctors and nurses at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City, as well as those of Advent Health in Orlando, FL. The prayers of all of Karen’s friends and family, along with the skill and knowledge of her medical teams, certainly extended her time with us.
