

Kathleen M. Doyle (nee Cox) died on September 26, 2018, in Ocoee, Florida. She was 81 years old. Born in the Bronx, NY, to Thomas and Bridget Cox, she grew up on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. She spent most of her life in Rockland County, NY, where she raised her family, before retiring to Tavares, Florida.
Kathleen was a graduate of Dominican Academy in Manhattan. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in education from Fordham University and her Masters Degree in Special Education from Manhattan College. Kathleen began her teaching career in the New York City public schools. She later went on to serve as a special education teacher at Ferncliff Manor in Yonkers, NY. She was a fierce and determined advocate for the education of children, especially for those who had special educational needs. She never gave up on a child and would develop creative ways to meet each child’s learning style. She delighted her students with her holiday parties, often creating costumes for the students to wear.
She was a devoted friend, known for her effusive Irish wit and charm. She always had a story to share. She never forgot a birthday or anniversary, and was often found at the bedside of a sick friend.
Kathleen is survived by her four loving children and their spouses: Kenneth (Margaret), Eileen (Jonathan), Coleen (Kevin), and Evaleen (Jeffrey). She dearly loved her grandchildren, Caitlin (Patrick), Colin (Trisha), Matthew, Robert, Emily, Patrick, Andrew, Thomas, Brennan, Zachary, Ainsley and Cassidy. She delighted in her great grandchildren Charlie, Naomi and Henry.
A funeral service will be held at a later date.
