Dr Kelley was my general practice physician for 15 years till he retired.  He had such a positive and gentle way of dealing with you that he made you feel like family. As a doctor, he was a natural healer. I used to feel better just by being in his presence. Until we meet again in Heaven Dr Kelley.

I just found out about Dr. Kelley's passing. My husband and I truly enjoyed the time we spent in his care. May his memory be a blessing. My condolences to his family. 

I knew Dr. Kelley my entire life. I was a patient of his almost as long, until he retired. He saved my life when no other doctor knew what was wrong with me. I found out recently about his passing and I am so sad I was not able to attend his service. He is missed and will always be a  positive influence in my life.

When our family moved to Florida back in the early 70's, Dr. Kelley was one of the first people I met.  He saw our family through many difficult situations and was always just a phone call away in any emergency.    Although we moved away from the Longwood area and I had not seen Dr. Kelley in many years, finding his obit tonight filled me with sadness and a real sense of loss.  My condolences are extended to his family.   The photos left by his family tell a beautiful story of a wonderful man.  Rest in peace Dr. Kelley.

Dr Kelley became my doctor in 1975.
He is by far the finest doctor I have ever known. No others have come close to the bar he sent. I just discovered this announcement. My condolences to his family. He will be sadly missed.

Larry and I have been good friends since I came to town to Winter park in 1972.  He was working in the Emergency Room at Winter Park Memorial Hospital and I was a radiologist there.  We became good friends and stayed that way through all of the years.  A kinder and better physician, there never was.  He was able to combine a great knowledge of medicine, with a most caring manner, in a form that was most admirable.  We even joined together for a number of years as we tried to found University National Bank near UCF.  There is no way to put into words how I will miss his wise counsel and friendship. Dr. Kelley was not only a beloved physician but a friend.  The only Dr. I know that would spend 45 minutes with me talking about my family, life, God and his favorite subject the Gators.  I am truly sad that the world has lost such a person but heaven gained a true gentleman.  Good bye my friend.

Memorial Celebration

Dr. Lawrence "Larry" Delano Kelley, 81, went to be with his Lord and Savior on January 22, 2019.

He was born April 5, 1937 to the late Joyce Shebairo and Homer Lawrence Kelley.

Larry's childhood and youth were spent in New York, New Jersey and Alabama. He graduated from high school in Jacksonville, Florida, attended Jacksonville Junior College and graduated from the University of Florida College of Medicine in 1962. He practiced Family Medicine for over 50 years in Virginia and Florida.

Larry was a much beloved family doctor in the Longwood, Florida area for over 40 years, loved by his patients and respected by his peers. 

He loved the Lord, his family, playing racquetball and the Gators.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, James Kelley.

Larry is survived by his wife, Doris; sons, Bill (Janet), Michael (Lisa) and Thom (Tina); daughter, Meredith (Parker) and grandchildren, Clif, Ian, Emma, Ryan and Ben.

Please join us for a Memorial Celebration at 11:00am on Saturday, February 2nd at St. Andrew's Chapel in Sanford, Florida with Reception to follow.
