Lewis Leroy “Lee” Petty, 66, of Winter Garden, died on August 9, 2018, just a week shy of his 67th birthday. He was born on August 16, 1951, in Tucson, Arizona. The only child of John and Vivian (Honn) Petty, he attended Cowan Schools in Muncie, Indiana and went on to study architecture at Ball State University.
Lee enjoyed a wonderful career as a Construction Project Manager at Lockheed Martin. Although now retired, he continued to support the company on various projects because of his love for the job. Lee was a designer, a creator, a tinkerer- a true engineer at heart! When he retired to enjoy "The Good Life!" with his wife Lynn, they would work on creative projects together, creating something beautiful out of something ordinary. They also loved to travel the world together, enjoying every moment of life.
Lee was an adventurous soul who loved to be surrounded by his favorite people. He would golf with his sons and his friends, and he really enjoyed taking everyone out on his boat. He always had a story to tell to whomever would listen!
Lee leaves behind his beloved wife of over 30 years, Lynn; his son Andrew Petty and wife Mayra, of Orlando; daughter Stephanie Petty and husband Efrain Portas, of Ocoee; and son Cameron and future wife, Daniela Ocampo, of Winter Garden. Lee is also survived by his four beloved grandchildren: Kassandra, Maddox, Tyce, and Presley.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, August 19, at Woodlawn Memorial Park and Funeral Home. 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Road, Gotha, Florida, 34734. Visitation will be from 2:00- 4:00 p.m. followed by a Memorial Service from 4:00- 5:00 p.m.
