Lois M. Hadley, 71, of Orlando, Florida passed away on July 24, 2015. She was born on March 2, 1944 in Portsmouth, New Hampshire to the late Wallace Melvin and Beatrice Quincy (Blanchard) Cullen. Lois was a member of First Baptist Central Florida and the former director of Mom’s Day Out at Dover Shores Baptist Church.
One of the most important things in Lois’ life was making people happy, and she took great pride in making people smile. People that have this gift are special people. It takes patience and perseverance and a love for loving people, all people to make them happy. Being a great wife, loving mother and grandmother, great friend can be tedious and hard work, but there is something that Lois knew and experienced that others sometimes do not. She enjoyed collecting unicorns and had a passion for the color purple.
Lois is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 48 years, John; her grandson Derek and sister, Eleanore Shephard.
She is survived by her three sons Troy, Robert, and Vance; sister, Barbara Richmond and her 4 grandchildren Laci, Sean, Amanda, and Rylee, as well as other relatives and friends. This family, and her role as mother and grandmother, was the most important thing to Lois. This is where she drew her strength and left her legacy. Being with her family was what Lois enjoyed most of all. Her life had many obstacles, and she struggled for many years with a devastating illness. Yet through it all, her love and caring for her family remained her focus, and in so many, many ways, she was able to show that love to us.
Visitation will be Sunday, August 2, 2015 at 2:00pm and Funeral Service at 3:00pm, both to be held at Woodlawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Road, Gotha, Florida 34734. The family encourages you to wear an “accent” of Lois’ favorite color, purple, in honor of her. In lieu of flowers please donate to American Lung Association.
