She was born in the Dominican Republic on October 17, 1936. She had a passion for beauty and fashion and attended cosmetology school in Guatemala City.
Luz married Pascual Antonio Clemente in 1954. She had a career in hairdressing, even owning and running her own hair salon, and also worked for Hewlett-Packard once she and her family moved to the USA.
She loved dancing, gardening, cooking, and, as of late, watching TV with her eyes closed. She adored her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandbabies, and always had room at her dinner table for new friends (there was no leaving her house without a tupperware full of empanadas or arroz con habichuelas).
Luz is survived by her children, Daisy Clemente, Josefina (Luis) Taveras, Hector (Luriela) Clemente, and Eddy (Kathy) Clemente; her grandchildren, K. Liones (Johnne) Gonzalez, Courtney (Brian) Pitta, Christina (Dave) Conlon, Leslie (Bryson) Lyons, Carmen (Cole) Masterson, Yaidel Gonzalez, Cristina (Tyler) Clark, Elizabeth Clemente, Jocelyn Taveras, and Hector Antonio Clemente; her great-grandchildren, Nora, Anjaly, April, Lorelei, Teddy, Zaina, Roman, Eliana, Camilla, and Ayla; and her siblings, Libertad and Bienvenido. She was preceded in death by her husband, Pascual Antonio Clemente; her parents, Chong Chea and Marcela Silva Marti; and her siblings, Fong, Belen, Digna, and Pedro.
