She was born in Troy, NY on September 18th, 1945 to parents Pauline Esposito and William Kapuscinski.
As a young school girl Madelyn resided in Cohoes, NY while attending Keveny Memorial Academy before starting a family and moving to Tampa, FL ultimately settling in Orlando in 1976.
After ending a tumultuous marriage, Madge took the leap of uncertainty and set out to raise her four children as a single, working mother. Her staunch faith and incomparable work ethic led her along what was once an uncommon, groundbreaking path of the single mother working multiple jobs to provide for her young children. She gave them everything they needed and then some.
..and somehow, she still made time to give back to her community by coaching little league baseball, hosting sleepovers for her kid’s neighborhood friends, and organizing memorable graduation parties.
She was unknowingly on her way to becoming a role model to the many lives she touched.
As a working mother, Madge put herself through college earning a bachelor's degree from Florida Southern College which led her into a leadership position with ORMC as director of the transportation department where she was instrumental in not only creating the department, but also heavily involved with designing the Neonatal Transport System.
Continuing to advance her career, she then moved into an administrative role at Florida Hospital Waterman from where she ultimately retired.
Madge had many interests of her own. Her gardens were always blooming, and her crocheted blankets still hang on couches within the homes of her family members, but more often than not her interests became secondary to her children and grandchildren.
If Madelyn’s favorite game show host presented you with the answer “Madge Springer”
…the only correct response would be: “Who is one Badass Woman?”
